April Mae & The June Bugs are Americana under the influence of jump blues, rockabilly and swing with a dab of N’awlins for extra spice. With smoke and honey vocals, washboard, upright bass, cigar-box guitar, banjo, and mandolin, serving up high energy and deep vintage vibes their specialty.
Their latest CD “Sun Kissed! The Sun Studio Sessions” was recorded at the legendary Memphis studio. Sirius Radio’s Big Jim Sykes (Elvis Radio) declared it “Real, raucous and righteous!” You’ll find them featured in Jon Miller’s 2016 documentary film on American Roots instruments "Strung Together" and traveling the country in their unmistakable, biodiesel-powered Boogie Bus, thusly named for her destination plate “It’s All About The Boogie!”
