Emma Května is a Canadian writer and poet with UK and Czech roots, currently living in Nova Scotia on the traditional territory of the Mi'kmaq Nation. Her creative writing has appeared in Filling Station, Planisphere Quarterly, Bell Press and FAYD Digital. In 2019, her fiction was shortlisted in a UK writing contest.
 
Emma is also an alternative writing teacher, musician, artist, magical thinker, and host of the podcast Wild Creative. In 2016, Emma graduated from the University of Victoria with a BC in anthropology but did not pursue academia work. Instead she worked at a self-publishing services company for a short while before eventually leaving the 9-5 lifestyle to pursue entrepreneurial work online.
 
Nowadays, she offers services in web design, graphic design, branding, teaching, and other unique services for writers such as lit mag submissions. She loves working with fellow like-minded creatives and mystics, drinking tea, and adventuring with her dog, Enzo.
